about

Hypnotic dub, multidimensional soundscapes, delicate progressive builds and still relevant to this day; Liquid Sound Design is pleased to share this digitally re-mastered version of this seminal Dub Trees album!

Some artists and productions simply stand the test of time, DUB TREES is one such artist and this is certainly one of those productions. First released in 2000 as the beginning of Youth’s (Martin Glover) ‘Dub Trees Trilogy’, ‘Nature Never Did Betray the Heart That Loved Her’ still sits firmly in multiple press and reviewers' ‘Best Of’ lists as one of the top ambient/psy-dub albums produced, alongside the Mysteries of the Yeti, The Orb and Shpongle. This comes as no surprise as all have intimate connections to Youth’s original Butterfly Studios and were the driving force behind the birth of psy-dub.

Dreamed of and fronted by legendary producer YOUTH, Dub Trees has always been a collaborative project which has seen early Butterfly Studios alumni OTT, Greg Hunter & Simon Posford involved as well as other poignant musicians such as Wadada (Suns of Arqa), Dervesh & most recently, Jah Wobble.

A new Dub Trees album is underway and will be released on Liquid Sound Design in 2024.

about

Liquid Sound Design London, UK

In 1998, Youth (Martin Glover) decided to set up, LSD - Liquid Sound Design as Dragonfly's sister label, specialising in chilled out soundscapes, sonic beats and mellow grooves. LSD was as natural progression for Dragonfly keen to create an outlet for more experimental and down-tempo music as well as satisfying the demand for the post club chill out sounds. ... more
